Engine Trouble

Looks like my prayer to spend more time in Japan before leaving this winter was answered.  While underway for Sea Trials last weekend, the ship ran into some engine trouble and we’ve come back in to port.  There’s no word on how long we’ll be back, although rumors are rampant.  I’ve heard as little as a week and as much as a year.  Who knows.

It’s put me in an interesting place.  I’d already started saying goodbye to Japan because of the length of our upcoming deployment, but now I’m stuck in limbo.  We could go to tomorrow, a week from now, a month, a year, and so how many goodbyes should I say?  Should I even saw goodbye at all?  Maybe instead I should just enjoy the time that God has given me in this fantastic country as long as I can.

  1. I know how much you HATE uncertainty so my prayer is that they figure it out soon so you can do what you do best, MAKE PLANS! Hang in there, buddy!
